The award-winning Durham-based architectural practice, Howarth Litchfield, has announced the promotion of Andrew Wilson to associate director.
Andrew, who is a chartered building surveyor, leads the building surveying team working on various conservation and regeneration projects throughout the region. He is currently supporting several refurbishment and new build works at Durham Cathedral, Durham University, on listed buildings and on ecclesiastical quinquennial inspections.
Along with managing the building surveying team, Andrew is also a key fee earner in the practice given Howarth Litchfield’s reputation for its knowledge and experience in heritage and conservation work, which has led to a large influx of work over the last three years.
Howarth Litchfield director and conservation architect, Neil Turner, says: “We continue to pick up major conservation projects such as the Grade 1 listed Norman Chapel and the Grade 1 listed Black Staircase within Durham Castle.
“We are fortunate to have invested in our own building surveying function several years ago, which is highly regarded by all our conservation clients. Andrew has played a huge role in developing our reputation in this field and we are delighted to be able to promote him to an associate director, a role which befits his contribution and potential.”
